B4U is short for Bollywood For You. B4U Music is a 24-hour music channel from the Bollywood For You group TV channels. B4U network aims to redefine the global perception and attitude towards Bollywood, world’s most prolific film industry. The channel has developed a devoted fan following in a short span of time.
B4U VJ’s have proved to be an extraordinary success among the music lovers. The USP of B4U Music is that they can show full songs from Bollywood movies instead of just mere clips as shown by other competitive channels. B4U Music’s programming includes the biggest musical hits from the latest Bollywood movies, the Bollywood music charts, exclusive star studded interviews, non-stop dance floor hits from both the U.S. and Europe’s South Asian music scene, interactive request shows and much more.
The B4U group was incorporated in 1999 and launched B4U Music and B4U Movies simultaneously in UK. The channels received an overwhelming response and the company went on to expand its operations in the US & UAE, before launching in India in May 2000. Within a short span of two years, B4U managed to spread its broadcasting wings globally and at present is available on more than eight different satellites and in more than 100 countries including the U.S., Canada, UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Mauritius, and India . Recently, the B4U Network joined hands with Fashion TV (FTV), a free-to-air satellite channel broadcast to 100 countries.
B4U has a 15-minute band at prime time to showcase Indian models on Indian ramp donning Indian designer wear. This band is repeated 4 times a day on the 24-hour global beam and provides an International window to Indian fashion and design.
B4U Movies is a Bollywood movie digital TV channel available on more than 8 different satellites, in more than 100 countries including the USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Mauritius, Canada and India. The channel is part of the B4U Group, owned by Lakshmi Mittal, Kishore Lulla and Gokul Binani. The channel broadcasts a mixture of classic and contemporary Bollywood films, as well as featuring star interviews, behind-the-scenes documentaries, and movie news. The channel has various licensing agreements with Eros Entertainment, which gives B4U Movies exclusive broadcasting rights to some of Bollywood’s biggest films (outside India at least). There are 4 different versions of the channel available in the UK, North America, the Middle East and South Asia. Each version of the channel produces a quantity of local programming which reflects the culture and tastes of the local population of the Indian Diaspora. One such programme (only shown on the South Asian version of B4U movies) is a talent contest for young actors, directors and screenwriters aged 7-15. The show concluded with the 4 finalists of the contest having their debut films premiered on the channel.
Zee TV is an Indian-based satellite television service, which carries broadcasts in Hindi and Urdu. As well as broadcasting in South Asia it also reaches audiences in Europe, the Middle East Africa, East Asia and Australasia. Zee TV was launched in the UK in 1995, replacing TV Asia (which still broadcasts in the United States) and now has spin-off projects, such as Zee Music, Zee Cinema and Alpha ETC Punjabi. Zee TV Sponsor with the world’s largest charity for orphans. Zee TV’s programming delivers a variety of choices for all segments of the audience, including primetime comedy and drama series, premiere Hindi movies, miniseries, children’s programs, musical shows, and mythological series. Zee has always believed in bringing innovative programming to its viewers. Since its inception the channel has introduced ground-breaking programming with parh breaking show like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Saat Phere, Dulhann, Kasamh Se, Maayka. All these programmes proved to be major successes with local audiences and are considered bench marks of the time.
Zee TV also forayed into mythological shows with Ravan, Naagin and Aladdin which were instant hits with the audiences. In fact the channel goes by its mission statement of building new relationships with each passing moment - Har Pal Banaye Ek Naya Rishta. The popularity of Zee arises from its understanding of Indian culture and beliefs, which are depicted in its programming. Realizing its strength in programming and the need for Indian entertainment in the overseas market, the company launched Zee TV in the UK / Europe (1995), the USA (1998), Africa (1998) and today is available across the world.
